The rise of the iPad DJ has been an incredibly quick one, with more and more apps and accessories making it easier for DJs to push the limits of the iDevices that they play their tunes on. Now Griffin Technology Inc. has come up with an exciting new device that allows DJs play on a multitude of iOS devices and really rock the house!
The DJ Cable is designed specifically to work with algoriddim’s for djay for iPad and djay app for iPhone and iPod touch meaning that users will have the ultimate mobile DJ experience, quite literally, in the palm of their hands. The actual cable itself is a fairly simple piece of equipment, with a mini jack that plugs into you iPad or othe iOS device, then it splits into two wires both female inputs, allowing you to plug both headphones and speakers into the wire. This ‘split output’ mode cues upcoming songs through headphones, independently of the live mix that is sent through the speakers, meaning that DJs can mix the tracks by listening to the beat before it is played to the audience.
Mark Rowan, President of Griffin Technology told us that, “We are delighted to team up with algoriddim to bring DJs a portable solution for their art. With DJ Cable, DJs can now easily spin music using their favorite iOS device with advanced functionality of pre-cuing the next song.” Karim Morsy, CEO of algoriddim, concurs, stating, “djay has fundamentally changed the DJ landscape, and with the introduction of DJ Cable, professional song stylists now have the ability to go completely mobile without sacrificing audio functionality or quality.”
This really is an essential accessory for anyone interested in DJing on iOS devices and for under 20 bucks, it’s a steal.
