Pick a Random Pin

Too many people pick a certain number for their pin to unlock their phone. Numbers like your date of birth or your phone number are far too obvious and could compromise your phone. Try to pick a passcode that is truly random.

On top of this, you should make sure that this passcode is unique to your phone alone. There are several pieces of software out there that are now starting to introduce pin codes and other measures as part of their security. Keep your phone passcode limited to just that device.

Only Download Official Apps

When you decide that you want to try out the services of a certain company, you might check the app store to see if there is an app. If you cannot find an official one from that company, don’t download any others. Third-party apps cannot be considered safe, and there is no telling what they might do with your data.

For example, if you want to use the services of Unibet Indiana, you need to make sure that you only download their official apps. There might be others that claim to offer the same service, but they are not from Unibet themselves and therefore cannot be considered to be trustworthy. The same can be said of any website where apps are offered and personal information is exchanged.

Activate Two-Step Authentication

Two-step authentication is incredibly important, and can help to protect your phone if your passcode is leaked somehow. It adds another level of protection to your device – something that should never be ignored.

The easiest way to add two-step authentication is often to add your fingerprint, if your iPhone has a fingerprint reader. There are several other types of authentication that you can add to your phone, with each one bringing its own benefits.

Watch the Permissions

When we enter an app for the first time, it can often ask for a list of permissions for certain functions of the phone. Some of these are pretty self-explanatory – Instagram, for example, needs access to your camera if you wish to post stories.

However, you should also think a little critically about what these permissions might mean. If a random app requires permission for the microphone, you should maybe question why. It does not always mean that the app is untrustworthy, but it is certainly something to consider.

You need to make sure that you are properly protecting your iPhone no matter what. So many of us carry our lives on our phones. From contacts to pictures to private information, there is a lot to keep safe, and you need to make sure that you are actively doing everything in your power to do so. Take a look at how you can improve the security of your phone now!
