Getting your car professionally cleaned sounds simple enough, but in reality it can be a bit of a hassle. You have to find a decent detailer, get a price, arrange a time, drive the car there and then either wait around or arrange another way of getting home.
That is the problem Renue is trying to solve.
The idea behind the app is straightforward: instead of taking your car to a detailing business, you book through the app and have a professional detailer come to you.
I decided to give Renue a try to see how well the whole process actually works and whether having a mobile detailer arrive at your door really is more convenient than using a traditional car wash or detailing centre.
What Is Renue?
Renue is a mobile car detailing app designed to connect you with professional detailers in your area.
The app lets you select the type of service you want, add your vehicle, choose a convenient time and arrange the booking from your phone.
It is essentially trying to do for car detailing what apps such as Uber have done for getting a service delivered to you.
Rather than searching Google for a local detailer, calling around for prices and trying to arrange an appointment, the idea is that everything happens through one app.
Renue currently offers services ranging from basic car washing through to premium detailing and full interior or exterior detailing. The company says the professionals on its platform are background-checked, licensed and insured.

My First Impressions of the Renue App
The first thing I noticed after opening Renue was how simple the app is.
There isn’t an overwhelming number of menus or options to work through. The main purpose of the app is clear: get your car booked in for a professional clean.
Setting up an account was straightforward, and adding the vehicle was also simple.
I liked that the process doesn’t feel like you’re filling out a long form just to get a price. Once you’ve entered the relevant information and selected the service you’re interested in, the app presents the available options and pricing.
That’s important because one of the things I dislike about arranging car detailing is having to message someone, explain what I want and then wait for them to come back with a price.
Renue takes much of that uncertainty away.
Booking a Detail
This is where Renue really starts to make sense.
After selecting my vehicle, I could look through the available detailing options and choose the type of service I wanted.
The app is aimed at different levels of cleaning, so you’re not forced into paying for a full professional detail if all you want is a basic clean.
I particularly liked the fact that the price is presented before you complete the booking.
That makes the decision much easier.
You know what you’re getting into financially rather than arranging an appointment and worrying that the final price might be different.
The whole booking process feels more like ordering a service through an on-demand app than arranging a traditional car detailing appointment.
The Detailer Comes to You
This is obviously the biggest selling point.
Once the booking is arranged, you don’t have to drive your car anywhere.
The detailer comes to the vehicle.
For me, this is the feature that makes Renue different from simply searching for a highly rated local car wash.
You can get on with other things while the detailer works on the car.
If you’re working from home, for example, you could arrange the appointment and continue working rather than spending time travelling to a detailing centre and waiting for the car to be finished.
The concept sounds simple, but it makes a surprisingly big difference.

Tracking the Detailer
One of my favourite features is the tracking functionality.
Renue added live tracking so that you can see the detailer’s location and estimated arrival time directly from the booking screen.
This is one of those features that isn’t absolutely necessary, but once you’ve used it, you appreciate why it’s there.
Instead of wondering whether the detailer is going to arrive in 10 minutes or 40 minutes, you can check the app.
It’s the same kind of convenience we’ve become used to with food delivery and ride-hailing apps.
Communicating With the Detailer
Another useful feature is the ability to communicate with the detailer through the app.
This is particularly handy when there are specific instructions about where the car is parked or how to access the vehicle.
Having the conversation inside the app also keeps everything relating to the booking in one place.
I would much rather have the booking information and communication together than have to exchange phone numbers and messages separately.
How Good Is the Actual Service?
For me, the biggest question isn’t really whether the app works.
It’s whether the service it arranges is actually worthwhile.
The app itself can be beautifully designed, but if the detailing isn’t good, none of that matters.
What I liked about the Renue model is that the app is not trying to be the detailer itself. It is essentially providing the platform for professional detailing businesses and individual professionals to offer their services.
That means the actual result will naturally depend on the detailer you are matched with.
Renue says it works with vetted professional detailers and that its partners are background-checked, licensed and insured.
The experience therefore feels much more professional than simply finding a random mobile car cleaner online.
What I Like About Renue
The convenience
This is easily the biggest advantage.
Having someone come to your home or workplace means you don’t have to build your day around getting the car cleaned.
Upfront pricing
I really like seeing the price before committing to the booking.
It makes the whole process feel more transparent.
Live tracking
Being able to see where the detailer is and when they’re expected to arrive is a genuinely useful feature.
Everything is in one place
Your vehicle information, service, booking and communication are all handled through the app.
The app is easy to understand
There isn’t a steep learning curve.
If you’ve used any modern booking or delivery app, you’ll understand how Renue works almost immediately.
What I Didn’t Like
Renue isn’t perfect, and there are a few things I’d like to see improved.
The biggest issue is that the service depends heavily on availability in your area.
A mobile detailing app can only work as well as the network of professionals available locally. If there aren’t many detailers operating near you, your choice of appointments may be limited.
That’s something worth checking before you get too excited about booking.
The Android version has accumulated more feedback, currently showing a 4.6 rating from 11 reviews, although that’s still a relatively small sample.
In other words, Renue is still a young platform.

Renue App Performance
During my time using the app, I found the overall experience straightforward.
One thing that is clear from the app’s update history is that the developers are actively working on it.
There have been numerous updates since the original version launched, with several releases specifically mentioning improvements to the user interface. Live tracking and improvements to background location reliability were also introduced in an earlier update.
That’s a good sign for an app this new.
It doesn’t feel like something that was released and then abandoned.
Renue Pros and Cons

- Detailer comes to your location
- Simple booking process
- Upfront pricing
- Live detailer tracking
- In-app communication
- Multiple detailing options
- Professional detailers rather than simply finding someone at random
- Regular app updates

- The platform is still relatively new
- Limited number of customer reviews at the moment
- Location permissions are required for some of the app’s functionality
Is Renue Worth Using?
After using Renue, I can see exactly why the concept works.
The biggest benefit isn’t necessarily that Renue provides a completely different type of car detailing.
It’s the way the service is organised.
Instead of me having to organise my day around getting the car cleaned, the service is designed to fit around me.
I can book from my phone, see the price, arrange a time, track the detailer and communicate with them without having to make phone calls or exchange multiple messages.
That makes the whole process feel considerably less like a chore.
For someone who takes pride in keeping their car clean but doesn’t particularly enjoy spending their weekend washing it, that’s a pretty compelling proposition.
Renue is one of those apps where the basic idea is incredibly simple, but that simplicity is actually its strength.
It takes something that can be inconvenient — getting your car professionally cleaned — and turns it into an on-demand service.
The app itself is easy to navigate, booking is straightforward, pricing is presented upfront and the live tracking feature is a welcome addition.
The main question mark at the moment isn’t really the app. It’s the size of the network and how widely available the service becomes.
Renue is still relatively new, so it doesn’t yet have the huge volume of customer feedback that more established services have.
But the foundations are there.
My rating: 4.5/5
If you hate spending your weekend cleaning your car or sitting around at a detailing centre, Renue is definitely worth checking out.
The idea of having a professional detailer come directly to your car might sound like a luxury, but once you get used to the convenience, I can see it being difficult to go back to doing things the traditional way.
Renue is available on the App store and Google Play store.
