Dotan Saguy – a Los Angeles entrepreneur – has soared past the $100,000 milestone with the Smarter Stand.
The Smarter Stand features two clips that create comfortable angles for the iPad. Saguy’s initial funding goal was a modest $10,000 but that was met after only 24 hours of posting on Kickstarter.
“I can’t thank my Kickstarter supporters enough for their kind words, encouragement, and pledges to make this dream a reality,” says Saguy. “The outpouring of support simply justifies that sometimes the simplest ideas are the most useful, and having forums like Kickstarter is an incredible way to get the word out.”
The Smarter Stand’s two clips attach to either side of a Smart Cover or Smart Case. With the Smart Cover, a non-slip pad that sticks to the back side of the iPad is also provided to stabilise the iPad. With the Smart Case, no pad is needed since the polyurethane of the back cover provides the necessary grip. The clips slide over certain folds in order to keep portions of the cover straight; thus, creating a variety of viewing angles.
