Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nope, it’s the STM Cape for the iPad Air

According to Apple, the best thing about the new iPad Air is that it’s so light that may actually forget that you’re holding it.  Not to nitpick with the tech giant’s business plan, but if you forget that you’re holding it, what’s to stop you dropping it and it falling (or floating) to the floor?  To prevent this tragedy, STM have released the STM Cape, the superhero of iPad covers that will stop your favourite new toy shattering into a million little pieces.

In keeping with STM’s style, the case is lightweight and slim at just 100 grams yet offers decent protection against bumps, grazes and clangs.  STM’s co-founder Adina Jacobs states that, “We strive to create protective cases that add unique function and utility to the tablet.  A bit of colour and style doesn’t hurt either.”

The cape has a tongue and groove design and can be easily switched from a secure mode to either a typing or a viewing angle.  I really like the sleek design of the water-resistant fabric and was pleased to hear that it comes in black, berry, grey and blue; I’m still waiting to hear back on whether I can get a giant ‘S’ customised into a special edition cape…
