The day of reckoning has arrived. We are now accepting App Idol submissions from any candidate who thinks that their app idea has what it takes to be the next big thing. We have a bevy of incredible prizes, including leading app developer Locassa developing your app in return for a generous revenue share. We have the promise of a huge publicity push for the successful entrant. We have four esteemed judges who will determine which finalist’s dream becomes a reality. This is App Idol.
So, what do you need to do to enter? Simple. Just submit your idea in written format, giving the necessary details and explanation and wait for us to contact you to tell you that you are through to the next round. We will accept any ideas for review, from problem solving apps to games, etc.; however, we would recommend that you keep your idea as simple as possible, as these are the apps that often do very well.
Let’s take a little look at what you will win, should your idea be selected:
- $1000 prize money sponsored by iGame Radio
- Leading development agency Locassa will develop your app
- Feedback and mentoring from 4 successful app entrepreneurs
- Marketing on iPhoneAppCafe.com
- The winner will be featured in the iPhone Life magazine
- AppLaunch service for free

Will games have equal chances to win than apps? Games are of course usually more complex than apps, so can a bit complex game win this competition?
Yes, games have a good chance of winning – keep them simple or with a next twist on an old angle so that there is some originality!

Ok. Only problem in my game idea is, that it might not be the simplest. But its unique and I think it can beat Angry Birds if it will be developed properly. So it is shame if my idea wont get chance to be next Angry Birds, because its too complex for this competition. But I will submit my idea and keep my fingers crossed.
Couple of questions:
1.Are we allowed to submit more than one app idea?
2. If our ideas are subsequently rejected, are we allowed to take them back and continue develop them ourselves?
What’s the video part like if I get that far? 😀
Do I have to speak in that video? I’m asking because I’m non-English/American and I’m not too good at speaking English. But very nice competition anyway!
1. You can only submit one idea per person – make it a good one!
2. Yes, of course and good luck with them!
The video part will only come if your app is selected for the semi-finals; we’ll get in touch and explain everything then, good luck!
