To win a country-wide app development contest is a dream come true for every developer, so to win a worldwide competition would surely be almost too much to handle; well, if Matt Glover gets enough votes then this may be a very fun problem for him to solve. After getting voted the best app in the London BeMyApp Hackathon event last weekend, Matt’s Star Jar app is now competing against the winners of the other 5 competitions in San Francisco, Dallas, New York, Paris and Berlin.
To make things even more exciting, Matt actually developed his app on his own as he wasn’t able to pull a team together, so it really is a case of the underdog emerging victorious! Here’s what Matt says about his brand new app, “Star Jar is a mobile application to award and journal ‘Star’-worthy acts by the children in our families. Taking the paper-based child reward system to a digital level now enables parents, grandparents, uncle, aunties … in fact all members of the family, to recognise and reward ‘Star’-worthy acts of behaviour in our children. Leveraging mobile technology these star awards can be awarded anywhere, and can be captured in an instant. The Stars in the Star Jar can be redeemed for rewards for all the family to enjoy.”
If you want to see what all the fuss is about then head over to the voting page and give Matt’s app a click towards winning the worldwide competition!
