Well it looks like 2011 has another milestone under its belt. Canalys Research put out a press release today with sales data on various computing devices such as Smartphones, Tablets, PCs and Netbooks. 2011 is the first year where smartphone sales have out numbered PC sales, with smartphones selling 158.5 million to PCs 120.2 million. It seems the mobile revolution in computing has really taken off and given Apple’s record sales last quarter, the IPhone is leading the way. A chart with a clearer break down after the break:
