5 Must Have iPhone Accessories for the 2011

Well, hopefully by now we’ve all recovered enough from our NYE-sized hangovers to get back to normal life and, yes, back to work. Oh well, don’t despair, because in this wondrous capitalist society that we all inhabit, work equals money and money equals iPhone accessories!!! Yeah baby, that iPhone accessory that managed to elude your Christmas stocking may be waiting just around the corner of your next paycheck, just ready to make your iLife complete! So, without further ado let’s check out what the New Year has in store for us in terms of must have iPhone accessories…

WowWee Cinemin Slice

Price:
$429.99

Starting with the out and out coolest App for 2011, the appropriately titled WowWee Cinemin Slice will provide a dock for your iPhone or iPad that also happens to be a projector. Let me repeat that, a projector. You can project films, photos, videos and games onto any wall or ceiling that happens to be in your vicinity, boasting a sharp 60 inch projection that can illuminate a wall or ceiling from over ten feet away. Predictably, the price tag attached to it is a hefty $429.99 and you will struggle to get it anywhere in the UK, but having sold out in its first week of pre-orders, it will be worth saving up for.

Iomega SuperHero Backup Charger

Price: $70

If you search for the Iomega SuperHero on Youtube, you can find a fairly amusing promotional video that will no doubt coerce a large amount of people into purchasing it based on comedy value alone. For anyone who is impenetrable to funny marketing, you should probably check it out anyway, seeing as it is an iPhone charger that contains an SD Card slot with a 4 GB Memory Card. Once you plug your iPhone in to charge, the SuperHero comes to your rescue by automatically backing up the data stored on it. Should you lose or damage your iPhone, (see video), you can always restore your photographs and contacts to your new iPhone. Unfortunately, it does not save any music, videos or emails, although these are probably stored on your computer anyway…it might be worth waiting for a SuperHero 2, which has this capacity, provided that it comes with a funny video.

Juice Pack Plus for iPhone 4

Battery issues have plagued the iPhone ever since its inception; hate-filled blogs are filled with angry comments from bloggers who have been stranded in dangerous council estates without the aid of Google Maps to help them escape the taunts of passing school children. Well, if you own an iPhone 4, stop your whinging and check out the Juice Pack Plus, which boasts an impressive capacity to ‘more than double’ the battery life of your iPhone, with a status indicator telling you exactly how much battery life you have left. With a customized rubber casing and an acoustic sound enhancer, the Juice Pack Plus will fit in with your iPhone’s cool look, unfortunately making you more of a target when stranded around council estates.

Case-Mate Barely There Case for iPhone 4

Case-Mate Barely There Case for iPhone 4
Price:
$24.99

The ‘Barely There’ tagline for Case-Mate’s latest iPhone accessory may sound as if it comes from a condom advert, but in fact it is used to describe the incredibly thin layer of protection that is designed to protect your precious iPhone from the outside world whilst showing off its outer beauty. The most attractive feature about this case is the fact that you can barely tell that it’s on when looking at it, despite it covering the back and corners of an iPhone 4 with a full-face screen protector. The down-side is, that if you drop it from a decent enough height, it’ll probably be of no use. Oh well, it’s cheap as chips and will protect your iPhone from scratches and light impact, plus it looks cool…which is always the most important thing.

Monster’s Tron Light Disc Audio Dock

Price: $299.95

Even the coolest jock, the kind of guy who uses nerds and geeks’ faces for hockey practice, can appreciate the attraction of the Tron Light Disc Audio Dock; inspired by the discs that are used by the characters in the Tron film, the dock boasts two LED lighting rings which throb in time to the music, a funky graphic equalizer and alarm clock which are styled to match the vibe of the film and a remote control so that you control the dock from anywhere in the room. The sizeable price tag means that this is a huge indulgence, but for anyone who likes the film and enjoys listening to tunes, (perhaps the Tron soundtrack?), it’s a must for 2011. Ironically, the geeks that were getting beaten up by the jocks around the time of the film’s release are probably now the ones that can afford to buy this…

  1. the case mate looks like a good product to protect the iPhone, however for those iPhone users looking for protection with a unique design I would suggest checking out http://www.intoroskins.co.uk – they allow you to design and create unique skins for the iPhone.

They look great and give protection from scratches and marks. A quick search on YouTube for intoroskins will show several videos that include various skins.
