The app store is full of great, weird and wonderful gaming experiences that can rival some of the triple A titles out there on the market in terms of gameplay and fun. You can try virtual reality, shooters, puzzles, platformers, the list goes on. There are many benefits of playing games on your smartphone, but what are the best games out there that you can play? Read on to find out.

Super Mario Run

You know when you play on a phone the graphics aren’t going to be supreme. If you want a game with the best graphics then consider purchasing a PC, you can start by looking at these prefab personal gaming computers. What phones offer, however, is the ability to pretty much play wherever you want, on the bus, plane, at home, etc. Mario run lets you do just that. You can play it with one hand, as unlike previous Mario games Mario constantly moves forwards, leaving you having to simply jump. It sounds straight forward, but it is an ultimate game that will go well with any smartphone. If you like Mario and platformers, then this is for you. Either for a dedicated gaming fan, or someone looking to kill a little time.

Tomb Raider

That’s right, the classic is available on your phone. It’s a great way to bring back those days of nostalgia on tomb raider one. The controls can take some getting used to, but when you’ve got them ready you can get back to blasting your way through enemies and solving those age old puzzles. Tomb raider II is on the store also, so you can double up and get both. You need two hands to play this and your phone needs to be turned horizontally, but it can still be a great way to kill some time.

Galaxy On Fire Three

This game looks stunning and could give a console a run for its money. If you love science fiction, then this is for you. You pilot a ship with a band of mercenaries in your quest to keep the galaxy safe by hunting down pirates. There are some in app purchases, but you don’t need to buy them to succeed in the game which is great considering the game is actually free. It’s so easy to control too and is a real beauty, even the story is somewhat compelling. It can get quite tough in the later stages without the in app purchases, but it is still a game worth trying.

Hearthstone

For all card game enthusiasts, look no further. This game, Hearthstone, has it all. Snappy, quirky visuals, an actual great turn based game, single player, multiplayer and the addition of in app purchases which you don’t actually need to succeed. Stratagy plays a part too, so you need to try and think the game out instead of just dumping your cards into play. The strategy element makes multiplayer extremely alluring and addictive. The better deck you have, the better players you play. The cards and animations are beautifully designed too.
