Whether its a PC or a Mac chance are at least one of the computers you have at home is powered by an Intel chip. As many of you know the mobile space is dominated by either proprietary chips like those found in most Samsung and Apple phones or Qualcomm who has dominated the market with their Snapdragon line. Well with Windows 8 moving to ARM Intel is looking to diversify, and the Lenovo K800 is the first fruit of that ambition. Specs after the break:The K800 packs a huge 4.5-inch 720p display that is bright and almost as amazing as the one found on the Galaxy Nexus. Sorry windows fans, but the k800 is running a heavily customized version of Android based on Gingerbread (which suggest this ones been in the oven for a while) and while the changes do make the device look unique they don’t effect usability. The phone features an 8-megapixel HD cam on the back and a front facing camera for video chat. That intel chip runs at 1.6 GHz but the spec list makes it unclear as to whether or not the chip has multiple cores. Currently, the device is fully HSPA+ compatible, but rumblings suggest that an AT&T version with LTE will surface before the end of the year. It’s always good to see new competition, and I’m excited to see if this new intel chip is better on battery life, a problem that plagues most Android devices.
