Friday’s News Round Up: Don’t Time Your Watch By a Verison Phone!

It appears that some Verizon iPhones fell back an hour at midnight tonight instead of springing forward, as reported by Mashable.  Daylight saving time hits tonight/tomorrow morning in the US, which means everybody loses an hour of sleep; that is, of course, unless you have a Verizon iPhone, in which case you’ll wake up out of sync, as phones are currently falling back an hour. This isn’t the first time the smartphone has been foiled by time — an alarm glitch on the iPhone meant that many Apple users were late for work back in January as well.  Excuses, excuses.

Following last week’s Angry Birds Seasons Go Green update, the original Angry Birds has received a 1.5.3 update, bringing adventures in the frontier badlands to an end with 15 new challenging levels with their ‘Ham ‘Em High‘ feature.  Users who have been a bit lax in keeping up with their Angry Birds updates will also get a new golden egg, which Rovio promises is “good, bad and ugly” and the Mighty Eagle, which appeared in version 1.5.0 and lets you skip levels by luring a giant eagle into the levels with a can of sardines.  Click here to visit the Angry Birds site.
