Forget about searching down the side of your couch to find your lost remote control, iMediaShare transforms your iOS device into a remote control seamlessly streaming personal and online media to your connected TV. You’ll never get stuck on the weather report channel again!
The app essentially works as a universal remote control for any internet-enabled TV by connecting with it using your home (or any) Wi-Fi network; you don’t need any additional hardware, cables or TV apps to make this one work, just your hand, the iPhone and the TV.
What’s really cool about this app is that you can store your favourite content within the app and then beam it onto any connected screen. So, let’s say that you really enjoy College Humor online channel and you want to show your buddies just how funny it is; simply activate iMediaShare with their TV and watch a video of a streaker running into a plate glass window again and again and again…
You can get the lite version and suffer through a few ads, or you can upgrade to the full version for $4.99 and get access to a plethora of online channel, including Animal Planet, CNBC, CNN, Earth Touch, Engadget, Euronews, Facebook, Funny or Die to name but a few.
Summary
This is an incredibly useful app if you enjoy watching TV and want to surf through a wide array of channels wherever you go; I upgraded to the paid one as I hate adverts, but if you want it for free, there’s little difference other than the fact that you get more channels in the paid version.
Pros
- It has an easily navigable and intuitive interface.
- With so many diverse channels, you’ll never be bored again!
Room For Improvement
Maybe it could have a few more animal programmes? Everyone loves animal programmes!
