On downloading Combo Cleaner from the App Store, the first thing that hits is its sleek, clean appearance. Gently curved edges, a beautiful color palette, and great visuals set the scene. It’s clear to see that the user experience was at forefront of the designers’ minds as everything feels incredibly intuitive. But Combo Cleaner isn’t all show and no substance: as well as the aesthetic, intuitive design, it provides an impressive concoction of features to ensure your Mac’s health and longevity.
I really like the stats at the top of the app – total disk space, total memory, and CPU load – as it informs my usage of the app: if I’m running low on space or the CPU load is particularly high (both these things slow the computer down to a snail’s pace) I can just clean the disk, delete duplicate files, search for big files (over 100mb) that aren’t worth the space they’re using, and I can do the same for apps using the Uninstaller. The antivirus works well too, with hourly malware definition updates its able to protect your Mac from the latest security threats. I haven’t had a single issue with unwanted ads or malware since I downloaded it – for this alone, it’s worth a download.
Combo Cleaner doesn’t distinguish itself with any one of its utilities: you can find total disk space without the app, you can search for big files without the app, you can delete apps without the app. However, it provides a home for all these processes and makes them far quicker and far less painful. It gives you enough control to get everything you need done, without giving you the power to unwittingly delete computer critical programs/files. If you’re looking for a comprehensive utilities application for your Mac, I’d definitely recommend Combo Cleaner.
