Ever wondered what your iPhone says about you? No, not your iPhone’s model, although unless you’re on a 6, prepare to be shunned by the fanbois next time you check the time down at Starbucks… I mean you’re iPhone, or, more specifically, your apps. Well, entrepreneur and developer Chris Maddern has come up with a Hack-A-Day project that does exactly that. Let’s take My App Profile for a spin.
The app’s premise is very simple: install it on your device, give it a few seconds to assimilate and analyse the apps on your phone, their usage, etc. and then it presents you with the career path or job title that is most applicable to you. Due to a couple of recent and hastily purchased synth apps, I fear that mine might be ‘Disco Queen’, but I roll the dice anyway.
And…CEO. So far, so flattered. I do run my own company, so it’s actually spot on, although I usually use the initialism ‘MVP’ as a nod to my school basketball days (I’m in charge now, Mr Hayes, and if I say I’m the Most Valuable Player, then I’m the Most Valuable Player. It’s not my fault the other boys grew taller…).
The necktie hanging from the ‘E’ of the CEO is a cute touch, but the steaming cup of coffee is more indicative of where my priorities lie. The text beneath reads,”Networking (guilty), long nights in the office (my business partner currently lives in Canada, hence the late night Skype and texts), and corporate synergy (not sure what that is but by God I’m full of it!) have you on the fast track to success.” I immediately share it on Twitter (although you can choose Facebook) and bide my time until one of my friends replies with a one-up of ‘Disc Jockey’. I bet it’s Tim, the big Disco Queen…
