If you want to edit your iPhone’s Dictionary and teach it some new words, go to ‘Settings’, ‘General’, ‘Keyboard’, ‘International Keyboard’, ‘Add New Keyboard’, and select ‘Japanese Ten Key’. Then go back and select ‘Edit User Dictionary’ from the main Keyboard screen and click the ‘+’ in the top right corner and select ‘Word’, before entering any word that you want your iPhone’s dictionary to recognize.
Hooray!
An easy solution that works 🙂
Hrm… Worked on my iPad but not on my iPhone 4. That is weird! They are both on iOS 4.3.5. The iPhone has the Japanese 10 key but when I click edit user dictionary there isn’t a + sign to add an entry. Hrm… at least it works for my iPad!! Thanks for posting!
it works on my iPhone 4! hopefully, this will eliminate some of those f-you-autocorrect moments 😉
thanks!
Worked fine for me but having said that I’m on IPhone 3
My IPhone 3 has no Japanese 10 key
