Sex sells. This is a fact. Advertising companies have made billions of pounds proving this certifiable fact and we have all shelled out ridiculous amounts of our hard-earned cash because we are, sub-consciously or otherwise, influenced by the appeal of sex. This is why, when a beautiful lady named Tiffany encourages me to put another dime into the pool table and try out an impossible shot, I don’t want to disappoint her, despite the fact that I have failed to make the shot 24 times before.
I am, of course, playing the new game ‘Hotshot Pool’ on my iPad, as opposed to being blind drunk in a seedy bar on the wrong side of the tracks, yet at the moment I’m not sure where I’d be more intimidated. You see, the beauty of ‘Hotshot Pool’ is not in its game play or graphics, which are predictably simple and addictive, but in the fact that each level introduces a gorgeous new virtual girl named something like ‘Brandy’ or ‘Angel’ and it is these sultry sirens of the pool hall who encourage you along a series of increasingly difficult trick shots.
If you are a pool fan and enjoy lining up that perfect shot, listening to the satisfying clunk as the ball hits the socket and rolls down into the table, then this is the game for you. Posited as the ‘Angry Birds’ of the Pool world, each level sees more challenges and tougher shots, like cushion bounces and double ups; me, I just want to see Tiffany wink at me as I make the next shot…(I know, I need to get out more.)
This article makes you sound so pathetic.
