If you have been driven mad by the constant dripping sound you get from a leaking tap whilst you lay in bed awake – then you know just how annoying it can be.
Having a game which involves you collecting every drip as it falls from the ceiling is quite a challenge, despite how simple the task seems. You get to start the level either as a light downpour or a heavy leak. What you must do is sweep from side to side the direction in which you wish the bucket to move to collect each drop. Every drop you gather is not just an addition to your point tally but also helps prevent the loss of any of your five lives. Each missed drop costs you a life and after you’ve lost your final life it’s game over. You aren’t just scored on your points but also on the time you’ve managed to survive.
This game is pretty entertaining and does offer a bit of a light distraction. I found it pretty monotonous however and it’s a bit of a shame that there’s no significant twists. There are a few bonuses to keep your attention from waning too much. Extra bonus points and restore health are just some of the things to keep your focus sharp.
Overall, this is one of those games that you will probably fall in love with or absolutely hate, as there’s not really much in the way of any middle ground. It’s a shame that the game seems to be so basic and although retro players and kids will probably find this more appealing, for the majority of gamers out there, you will probably hope for something a little more entertaining to keep the boredom at bay.
Positives
- Entertaining for younger gamers and more basic game players
- Moderately challenging
- Good for a light distraction
Negatives
- Not to be played in places where you’re likely to be jolted (you have to be pretty accurate to avoid missing a drop)
- Extremely repetitive
- Not terribly engaging and lacks the real wow factor due to its simplicity
