Debts and Credits iPhone App Review

Seeing as I have made a living through freelance writing for some years now, I’m no stranger to debt; credit, however, often gives me the slip. However, there are the odd occasions when I feel slightly flush and seem to need some sort of way to balance my finances; enter, Debts & Credits.

Debts & Credits is a very simple app to figure out how to use, yet its potential is fairly limitless as you don’t only use it to keep on top of you finances but you can also use the app to keep track of any other object that you owe or is owed to you. So, whether you lend someone $5, a DVD or your bike, you can keep track of who owes what to you; concurrently, you can keep tabs on what you owe to whom, so that you don’t turn into ‘that guy’ (the one that owes everybody the shirt off his back…not cool).

When that date arrives, you’d better pay up!

What I particularly like about this app is that you can utilise your iPhone’s camera function to take a picture of whatever item it is that you are borrowing or lending and also write a note about it, detailing who the recipient or benefactor is. You can also add an expiration date to your debts and credits, with items that expire within 24 hrs to appear in red.

Summary

Debts & Credits is a very useful app for people from any walk of life. Let’s face it, we all lend and borrow money, items etc all of the time and it is not infrequent for these issues to be forgotten about or the details of which to go awry; let this iPhone app manage those problems before they become problems.

Pros

  • You can share your debt/credit via text message or email (so they’ve got no place to hide!)
  • The fact that you can change the currency of money debts/credits from the app’s ‘Settings’ panel is particularly useful for intercontinental lender and borrowers.

Room For Improvement

Unfortunately, you cannot buy the app on credit…yet!
