Bad Piggies iPhone App Review

Those evil pigs from the Angry Birds games are back, and developer Rovio has managed to turn them into even more adorable characters than the ‘birds.

Having a similar look, style and featuring the same three star level achievements as Angry Birds, gamers could mistake Bad Piggies as just another fling-things-into-structures style game.

Bad Piggies is not Angry Birds, it is in fact a whole new game in its own right. rather than sling shotting the pigs about, you are actually building vehicles and bizarre structures for them to travel in. This makes for a whole different style of game play which makes way for creativity and experimentation.

No longer can you complete a level by just playing it over and over again in the hope that the structure you’re hitting lands a certain way, or your bird rolls off the edge of a platform onto a TNT box (yes, my Angry Birds tactics really are that crap). With this game you’re also using your brain to figure out the puzzling constructions which will allow your pig to travel forward, backwards, fly in the air and fall gracefully down holes.

The Angry Birds developers set in place a unique look and feel of the game, this has been carried over along with the simple and easy controls, bonus levels and the real sense of fun that you get with the franchise.

Bad Piggies is a fantastic next step for Rovio, who have managed to make yet another unique game that will have many, many imitators appearing on the App Store.

As much as it is a cliche to say it, this really is an ‘easy to pick up, hard to master’ game that will keep you going for a while.

Pros: plenty of puzzling creations to keep you occupied, cute graphics, lots of levels.

Cons: the only negative thing about this game is that some levels take a lot of brain power to figure out!
