No, Puzzle the Picture makes the work of jigsaws easy, leaving you to focus on the entertaining part, as it was intended in the first place; watching the whole thing come together. You select your pieces from a little stack at the bottom of the screen, and manipulate them on the board above to form an image. Simple, fun, easy to use and addictive. All the ingredients of a good app.
There’s twenty categories of pictures, featuring fifty separate images each, so you’re not going to be running out of puzzles to create any time soon. If you’re the solitary type of puzzler, you can work away on your own, but if you feel like being a little more competitive, you’ve got the option to challenge your friends, or even a random stranger, to a puzzle showdown, with the hopes of someday making it on to the prestigious leaderboard. You can invite your pals via email or Facebook, which adds a whole new dimension to the traditional puzzle format.
The app is well designed, and quickly proves addictive within moments of playing it. The layout is bright, bold and professional-looking – a lot of these puzzler type apps look like they’re made on the cheap, but Puzzle the Picture is happily not one of them. Clearly some serious time and love has gone into this app, and it shows through in its engaging iteration of the classic jigsaw puzzle.
