Last year we shared the secret of becoming a freelance photographer with your iPhone, utilising Clashot’s innovative app to earn bucks for your daily snaps. Well, now Android users can get in on the fun as well and with all of the new updates, it seems as if there might be a bit of a gold rush towards the snapper-for-hire end of the market.

Users are granted complete autonomy in what they shoot; if you see a beautiful flower, snap a beautiful flower; if you see a building burning down on the high street, you pap that burning building for all that it it’s worth (after calling the emergency service, of course). Upload your favourite photos to Clashot and make them available for purchase. The team who own the app, Depositphotos, load your photos on to their files and they take care of the actual selling, so you just worry about the creative side.

The thing that really drew me to Clashot was the fact that each photo can be sold as many time as you want; so, let’s say that you really capture the zeitgeist and get a cool snap that every blogger worth his salt wants – you’re in the $$!

A new feature of the app means that you’ll also earn money for ‘likes’ from Clashot experts; the more likes that your picture gets, the more the money will pour in. There’s also a new feature in which you can actually get commissioned for jobs, in the sense that Clashot’s partners will create offers and promotions that you can cash in on to earn extra money. Once your royalties reach $3 or more, you can make a withdraw; as the app is free, anything that you make will be pure profit.

With a few bug fixes and general maintenance work making the app run even smoother, this is still a solid favourite of the FanAppic office. Now all we have to do is take that golden snap that earns us enough to retire…
