If you are into online gaming then the chances are you also enjoy a game of Texas Hold’em, the ‘Cadillac of Poker’, as poker legend Doyle Brunson refers to it. Viaden Gaming have created an app for both iPhone and iPad with which you can combine online gaming with games of Texas Hold’em Poker; so how does it compare with the real thing?
Well, the layout and game play is really impressive, with a virtual poker table as the screenshot, with players’ pictures and images dotted around the table. The really cool aspect is that you can be hooked up to anyone in the world, provided that they have an iDevice and would like to play poker with you; you can invite old friends to play or make new ones on the online chat room in the ‘lobby’, another nice touch.
Pros: There is a tutorial for beginners to learn the ropes and also the opportunity to play with VIP chips for the pros; the fact that you can brag about your scores on Facebook is in keeping with the bravado of a poker match.
Cons: It can be a little slow to draw a card on the odd occasion and there have been reports of it crashing mid-game, which would be incredibly annoying if you had a straight flush…other than that, it’s a real winner!
