Royal Dubstep iPhone App Review

The nation is preparing to host and take part in massive festivities across London and the UK to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s 60th year on the throne. Whether you are a Royalist or just someone who appreciates having a long Bank Holiday weekend off, this app is sure to get you into the Royal festive spirit!

Pros: The intro to the app is very festive with the anthem of ‘God Save Our Queen’ playing on the greeting page. The app has a clear layout, which is easy to use and operate. The main aim of the app is to create music using the available functions, which all appear on one screen. Audio clips of the Royal family make it funny and entertaining to add onto a chosen track. The app includes a range of sound effects, loops, samples, pitch modulations and a glitch feature that slows down the time. Users can also purchase additional sound packs of Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry.

Cons: Royal Dubstep could be improved by allowing users to record and playback the tracks that they have created. These could then be shared via social networking sites. The additional sound packs could also have included the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, to potentially generate a higher interest. The app is also directly targeted for this seasonal occasion and so may have limitations to its appeal amongst a wider audience.

Overall, whatever your opinion of the Royal Monarchy, it’s sure to be an eventful and memorable weekend ahead!
