The constant influx of beautiful celebrities via our TV, computer and smartphone screens is enough to make even the most confident person feel a little ugly.  Well, what if you could twist, distort and blur these gorgeous celebs into first-prize winners of the local Freak Show?  Enter, QuizFace.

For those of you who want to see Leonardo Di Caprio’s face shrunk to a tenth of his size (can’t forgive you for The Great Gatsby, sorry Leo) or Jessica Simspon’s mug pixilated to within an inch of its pretty little life then just grab the free app and start playing.  You can invite Facebook friends or play solo; just flip through the 300 images of celebrity actors, musicians and, uh, royalty (Prince William turned inside out, anyone?!) and guess which name is correct as the distorted picture becomes clearer.

You have 10 seconds to select a name from the four available; you can use such lifelines as ‘Remove effect’, ‘50/50’ (take away two wrong answers) and ‘Skip’ but you only get a handful of these; earn more of these as power-ups as you progress through the game.

With each correct answer, a little cartoon chicken mascot arrives on screen to cheer your on with such phrases as ‘Awesome!’ and ‘Excellent’, punctuating the techno soundtrack with a squawk.

What I like about the game is that even though you will see a few of the same faces each time that you play and therefore will know them for next time, this simply makes it easier to progress to see more – there’s no way in hell that anyone could make it to 300 straight away, so it’s a case of practice makes perfect!

QuizFace is a fun time-killer and an innovative way to find out which of your friends knows more about celebrity culture than you do.  It’s also the only place that you will see Gwyneth Paltrow looking anything but flawless and that, my friends, is worth the free download alone.
