10 Coolest iPad Apps Ever

If you have an iPad then you’re probably already pretty cool anyway, however there is always room to get a little bit cooler. The cooler the apps that are on your iPad, the cooler your iPad is and therefore the cooler you are by proxy. As Oscar Wilde said, “The only thing to do with good advice is pass it on”; well I’d like to think that if Oscar was with us today then he would take a little peek at this advice before he sent it on its way around all and sundry…so, without any further ado, here are the 10 coolest iPad apps ever!

3. Angry Birds – App updated Dec 23, 2010, Price $0.99, Developed by Clickgamer Technologies Ltd Angry Birds Seasons HD - Rovio Mobile Ltd.

I don’t know what it is about Angry Birds that has got me so addicted, but seriously, it’s like crack to me. I can’t go a day without a fix of catapulting a furious little birdie towards a light-fingered, (or trottered?) pig and aiming to kill. And on the iPad its even bigger and better! If you don’t know by now, the crux of Angry Birds is very simple. A group of thieving pigs has stolen the birds’ eggs, making them, understandably, pretty pissed off. They want them back, but apparently the only way to do this is to use them selves as kamikaze pilots who smash down the pigs’ defenses and ultimately destroy the pigs. The mercenary birds come in indifferent shapes and sizes, (or breeds), and they all have different talents. Some lay explosive eggs, others can boomerang round a target and the little blue ones, weirdly, can split into three separate smaller birds. Before scientists discover this curious race of super birds and perform tests on them, no doubt trying to turn them into weapons of mass destruction, I urge you to download the app and help them recover their eggs!

6. Evernote – Developer: Evernote,Released: 12 January 2011,Price: Free Evernote - Evernote

This popular note taking application is a must-have for note organization and is regarded as one of the most essential applications for users in all walks of life.

There are four different ways you can save notes. First, you can save a note by just simply typing it out. Secondly, a “snapshot note” will use your iPad’s camera to save notes. Thirdly, the “camera roll” will use the photos in your iOS device’s photo library. And finally, my favorite, the “voice memo” allows you to make those all too familiar, “note to self” memos.

Evernote organizes everything efficiency. After you’re finished with your note you can add a title, tags and description to make it easily searchable. For those of you who have many things going on at once, you can also organize your notes into notebooks for easy referencing. To do that all you have to do is just tap on the “Notes” button to do a quick browse or you can do a simple text search. However, the text search is not only limited to written notes! In other words, it can also recognize text in your photographs whether it is a business card, snapshot of a magazine article, whiteboard and more.

With this app I can quickly and efficiency access my important notes on the fly. Evernote quickly became an important app in my arsenal and the best thing about it? It’s FREE!

It emits the coolest electro synth projections and is guaranteed to funk up even the most tired of tunes. Available on iPad, the KORG iElectribe lets users create beats and sounds on their screen just as they could on the vintage analog synthesizer that it’s based on; just choose a part and touch the 16-step sequencer to quickly build a groove that will rock any party. And what’s more is that they’ve only gone and teamed up with Damon Albarn’s super-group Gorillaz to make a special edition version with a Gorillaz skin that lets you make beats the same way that Damon & co did for their recent album ‘The Fall’. Now that’s cool!
