It goes without saying that of all the apps around there seems to be very few sleuth/ detective/ police inspector type puzzle games. We’re not sure why, so when Special Enquiry Detail was road tested we had to see what it could offer.

Some people are just born sleuths. They have a knack for finding out who the killer is – be that Sherlock Holmes, Inspector Frost, Colombo or plain old Vera. They have a good sound judgement which uses gut feeling, probability and rejects stereotyping.

To see if you can fit the bill of a super sleuth you could put your skills to the test with this game and discover where many hidden objects seem to be hidden. The location is New York City and two detectives on the case of Lamont and Turino.

They are tasked to solve a number of murders that have rocked the peace and tranquillity of the city to its core. The murders are sensational and seem to have riled everyone up. No person is above the law but in New York City the entire place is full of mayhem, disorder and anarchy – thanks in part to the horrific murders that have taken place.

One of the murder victims is left with a bizarre deer head next to the corpse. Another has a portrait on the wall that’s been made to start bleeding. It’s all sensational stuff which has gripped the city and law and disorder seem to be the order of the day.

The task for you will be to head on down to the crime scene, see if there are any clues, make your skills in detective work stand out and try to solve these heinous crimes. You’ll have to turn over every small detail to get to the bottom of the murders and then start to gather the evidence.

Special Enquiry Detail does emulate a detective on the case of a major murder mystery in every detail. And that’s what we loved so much about it. Suspects must be interrogated and questioned, boards are to be erected linking suspects with victims and forensics will have to be on this case full time.

Sometimes it can be the smallest clue that leads our detectives to the killer (or killers). The goal is to bring the murderers to justice. And yes, you will get a real buzz when you get to lock up those killers and throw away the key.
