MilliTalk iPhone App Review

Gone are the days when you had to worry about making a long-distance or international call due to high cost of communication. Thanks to voice over IP, 3G technologies and mobile VoIP, the calling rates are much affordable. MilliTalk is one such solution for those people who desire or require making international calls frequently. This is a smart communication app, which turns your iPhone, iPad and iPod into a cost effective communication devices.

How does it work?

Most of the people are reluctant to make international calls due to expensiveness of cellular and landline services. Here, you don’t have to worry about the cost. Instead of using your cellular service minute, MilliTalk simply uses Wi-Fi and 3G technologies to make free calls globally. The application can be downloaded from App store for free and it requires only two or three minutes to get ready for making calls to your friends and family.

Pros:

Cost effectiveness is the premier advantage that MilliTalk offers. Instead of monthly payments, you just need to purchase an annual deal for free minutes. It offers 14 days trial with pretty good features, while the formal complete yearly package can be purchased at $39.99. It offers low cost international calls, free on network calls, three way calling facility, and above all, 24 hour customer support. Moreover, the application can be used without any contract or signing an agreement with the developer and service provider.

Cons:

The application is available only on 3G iPhone and other Apple devices; Android users will have to wait for its Android compatible version. Additionally, it doesn’t offer IM and texting facility like Skype. So, those who are habitual of sending text messages will find it difficult to rely on MilliTalk.

Despite these facts, MiliTalk is a good addition in App Store and will suit a large segment of the market for sure.

  1. Thanks for the review! Just a couple things, it’s MilliTalk not MiliTalk. We say free calling because all MilliTalk to MilliTalk calls are completely free. We also give customers free calling credit even if they choose not to purchase the calling plan. We call this the MilliTalk Free plan and all customers are automatically moved to it after their free preview.

    Thanks again!

  2. Hi RYan, Thanks for your comment and correction 🙂

I duly added the on network free calls here. However, my intention was to clear it for the customers that it’s not absolutely free. They will have to pay a sort of line rent. Moreover, I have also touched your Trial based free calling option.

    Have a nice day !!!

  3. Thanks for getting back Tahir.
The free calling I want to stress is that we do offer a calling credit to people each month they can use to call anyone anywhere in the world. They will never have to pay a dime if they don’t want to. That’s why we can call it free calling. That is something that none of the other voip companies can say. If customers would like to talk longer we of course offer our affordable yearly calling plan, but when we say free calling we mean it. Hope that helps clear up any confusion.

Have a great day as well!

  6. I tried To subscribe To received Mail Info about new offers and Updates from MilliTalk, there is a message, the mailing list is not active. They sugested To contact the provider.

  7. If I have a friend visiting Ireland and we are both on Millitalk, are there any roaming charges when she calls me or I call her? How are roaming charges different on Skype Unlimited World Plan?

  8. Hi everyone! Nesha, you can pay for additional minutes in the “Settings” section of the app. Remember all MilliTalk to MilliTalk calls and texts are completely free! Suttlesak, there is no roaming fees with MilliTalk. Even if your friend is in Ireland and you both have MilliTalk, those calls will be completely free.

  9. Hello,
We needed to change the password for Millitalk. The emailed link for doing this was routine enough but we then got “Untrusted Certificate” warnings (using Firefox browser, Windows 7 pc), with subsequent dire warnings about fraud. This scared us off, so I wanted to bring it your attention.
    (root certificate purchase for servers?).
    Thanks, SJO.

  10. MilliTalk has worked well for me from Japan to US. A buck for 90+ min. It’s actually 5 bucks for just over 8 hours per month. Then you gotta buy another fiver of credit. And I got a local number there. I never use it up. The line is usually pretty loud & clear with maybe a tiny “warp”. If the connection is poor I call again right away. Very little time wasted. Minimal inconvenience, really, considering the value. I prefer this to Skype. I started with a couple weeks of free test calls. How can you not like that? Recommended!
